Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! I’m so excited about today’s post because it marks the start of a new series here on the blog. I don’t know about you guys, but I have always been obsessed with “Get the Look” and “Look for Less” posts. I think they are so much fun and a great way to recreate emerging trends and celebrity looks when you don’t have a lot of $ to spend. I truly believe that you don’t have to wear expensive things to look/be fashionable and I think these kind of posts are proof of that. Not only so, but I think trying a different look out can be so inspiring and really helps to push you out of your comfort zone. I want this series to be something a little different for you guys and that’s why I don’t want to limit it to just trends and celebrity looks. If you like a character’s look from a particular t.v. show, movie, music video, really anything you can think of I would love to hear your ideas! 🙂
Now on to this particular look – When I saw this picture of Zendaya wearing denim on denim, I instantly fell in love. It’s so effortlessly chic and takes me back to Britney Spears circa 2001 in the best kind of way. What I really like about this style is that it almost looks like the top and bottom are one piece like a jumpsuit. Add some black accessories and a red lip and you’re good to go! As I was mentioned before, you don’t have to break the bank to recreate this look. This top was $15 at Forever 21!
While on the hunt for some cute booties this weekend, I ended up finding a whole bunch of fall shoes for amazing prices (all under $100), and wanted to share them with you!

Hi friends! As much as I wish it wasn’t, summer is quickly coming to an end. In a little over a week I’ll be in my last year of college, and although I’m looking forward to the new year, I’m really going to miss my summer wardrobe! I’m taking every opportunity possible to wear my favorite warm weather skirts (like this one) while I still can. This particular skirt from H&M is a few years old, but in general, I love bold patterns like this paired with a simple top and accessories during warm seasons like this one.
Hi friends! Something that you may not know about me is that I love to bake, so once and awhile I like to take a break from the usual fashion posts and throw in something a little different. Now don’t let this fool you I’m a total amateur at baking (I mean c’mon I’m using boxed mix here), but when I saw these cute cupcake cones on Pinterest I just couldn’t resist trying them out. I think they came out really awesome and I wanted to share how I made them with you all, so here goes…
You will need:
- 1 box of cake mix + the water, eggs and vegetable oil called for on the box. I used the Duncan Hines Lemon Supreme mix.
- 1 box of ice cream cones
- 1 container of frosting (I used the Pillsbury brand vanilla flavor)
- Heat your oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). I found that my cones did not need them, but if you would like you can place a muffin baking cup in each of the tins. Place a cone in each muffin tin.
- Divide the batter among the cups, leaving some room towards the top.
- Bake anywhere from 16-22 minutes, but be sure to check your cupcakes with a toothpick frequently to make sure they aren’t over cooking. When the toothpick comes out clean they are done. Give a generous amount of time for the cupcakes to cool (about 30 minutes or so).
- Frost as desired, however for the neatest application I recommend using a frosting bag with a tip.
I hope you guys try this out – it’s really cute for the summer time, especially if you’re using it as a treat at a party or bringing some over to a friends. (:

If you’ve ever been a fan of beach or pool cover ups, then you’ll love the sarong. It’s a total game changer. In case you’ve never heard of it, a sarong is a long piece of cloth that is traditionally worn by the women in Southeast Asia and can be wrapped around the body in a variety of ways. I had been pinning sarongs for months on Pinterest, so naturally when I received one as a gift for my birthday I used the first excuse to wear it when my sister and I went to the lake for the day. The best thing about the sarong, is the crazy amount of ways you can wear it. It can be tied into a dress, a long skirt, a short skirt, etc. The options seem endless. If you guys would like to see a tutorial post showing how to wear it a few ways, let me know in the comments!
