Hi friends!  Who’s ready for pumpkin spice lattes and apple picking??  I’m trying not to rush it, but I can’t help but feel so excited for everything fall!  When I’m trying to transition my wardrobe I like to take summer tops and pair them with big midi skirts for the perfect almost-fall-weather combo.  You can also add a jacket if it starts to get chilly early in the season.

Hi friends!  As much as I wish it wasn’t, summer is quickly coming to an end.  In a little over a week I’ll be in my last year of college, and although I’m looking forward to the new year, I’m really going to miss my summer wardrobe!  I’m taking every opportunity possible to wear my favorite warm weather skirts (like this one) while I still can.  This particular skirt from H&M is a few years old, but in general, I love bold patterns like this paired with a simple top and accessories during warm seasons like this one.

If you’ve ever been a fan of beach or pool cover ups, then you’ll love the sarong.  It’s a total game changer.  In case you’ve never heard of it, a sarong is a long piece of cloth that is traditionally worn by the women in Southeast Asia and can be wrapped around the body in a variety of ways.  I had been pinning sarongs for months on Pinterest, so naturally when I received one as a gift for my birthday I used the first excuse to wear it when my sister and I went to the lake for the day.  The best thing about the sarong, is the crazy amount of ways you can wear it.  It can be tied into a dress, a long skirt, a short skirt, etc.  The options seem endless.  If you guys would like to see a tutorial post showing how to wear it a few ways, let me know in the comments!

If I told you I was an expert print mixer, I’d be lying.  I typically tend to be a one pattern kind of girl, but I felt like it was time to change it up.  If I didn’t make an attempt at helping you guys mix and match your closet, then what kind of fashion blogger would I be right? 😉  Stripes and floral are two of the most safe patterns you can blend.  Don’t ask me how, but they just usually seem to work. Additionally, when you have a lot of the same colors in two different pieces you can typically make them go together.  Take notice of all that white in both the overalls and the shirt.  Your eye goes right to all that cohesiveness instead of the conflicting patterns.  Wha-la a match!  As always, thanks so much for reading and I love having your support!  (:
