There is definitely something to be said about having a few key pieces in your wardrobe that you will keep forever.  This suede skirt is one of them for me.  I bought it a few months ago on Etsy from a little vintage shop and I am so in love.  I first saw the look on Emma Watson and I thought it was so pretty and different.  I went crazy looking all over the internet for the perfect one, which is why I’ve rounded up tons of options for you guys.  It looks really cute in the fall and works as a winter transition piece too since it’s so long and can be worn with booties.  Using a turtleneck top and blanket scarf I piled on the layers to keep this look cold weather friendly.

Happy Monday!  Things are finally starting to warm up around here which means that it’s time to break out the trench coat!  I got this one from Zara during one of their big sales and I love the way it curves to your figure rather than being boxy like some others that I’ve tried.

Tip: A quick fix for a trench coat with a long belt is to tuck it under itself.  it’s both functional and looks fashion forward!  Have a great week everyone!

When you’re in that awkward transitioning period between winter and spring it can really hard to come up with outfits to accommodate the weather.  Particularly in March and April I find that it’s common (in NJ) to have one day that’s really cold and the next day it can be 70 degrees or more.  We have been experiencing a lot of that in the past week.  It snowed on Monday and by Wednesday it was 78 degrees outside!

I find that it’s really easy to fall into the “what do I wear?” trap during these months because the temperature is just so inconsistent.  One of my go-to transitioning looks is to wear a sweater and jeans of the same color hue paired with bright spring-like accessories.  I love the way the pink bag and green necklace pop against the gray!  What’s your go-to spring transition outfit?

In the winter, it’s tempting to throw on a pair of sweatpants and order takeout, but sometimes a night out is exactly what you really need.  Make your favorite dress cold-weather ready with a pair of tights and a wool coat.  You can also take any coat from blah to fashion forward by draping it over your shoulders instead of wearing it the traditional way.

Hi loves!  This week was absolutely FREEZING.  My sister and I weren’t sure if we’d be able to bare it outside long enough to get these shots, but we made it!  Despite having to suck it up a little, the weather was perfect timing because a company that I was already relatively familiar with, eShakti, offered to send me a coat customized to my measurements.  I had become aware of this company through Instagram and had heard positive things from other girls who shopped from the site.  That being so, I was really curious to try the brand out for myself and give you all an honest review of what I thought.

First, I think the idea of being able to customize something to your body is really revolutionary.  Fit is everything.  When something doesn’t sit on your body right, it just looks wrong.  I was pretty impressed with the quality of the coat.  It was well made, and looked exactly like it was pictured.  I had one minor issues with the button holes being a little stiff at first, but they loosened up after buttoning them and unbuttoning a few times.  As someone who is fairly petite, I thought the length was perfect and it was tailored really well to fit my body.  Also, I’m obsessed with the scallop detailing near the button holes.  I really love the wide variety of vintage inspired pieces that are available online too.  Some of my favorites are here, here, and here.  I think the prices are also very fair, being that each piece is customized to your individual body.  I will definitely be ordering more cute vintage looking clothes in the near future!

P.s. use code “theinspirationcloset” to get 10% OFF your purchase from 1/22/16 through 2/22/16! *Note: not valid on clearance*

Stay warm everyone and thanks for reading!
