If there is one thing worth investing in, it’s your skin.  You only get one, and the way you take care of it in your 20′s and 30′s will directly affect how it appears in your 40′s, 50′s, and so on.

Over the years, I’ve focused most of my skin-care efforts on fighting breakouts, but over time many anti-acne products have left my skin very dry and unnourished.

Keeping skin hydrated is crucial for preventing fine lines, wrinkles, and retaining overall radiance in later life.  I knew that continuing my routine the way I was could ultimately damage my skin in the future.  That’s why I completely revamped my skin-care routine and wanted to share it with you all!

1.) Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Pads

Glycolic Acid is gentler than many other cleansers, but penetrates deeply making it the perfect exfoliant for those who are sensitive, while sloughing away dead skin and unclogging pores.

2.) Eye Cream

The skin around your eye area is very thin and should be given extra special attention, even as early as your 20′s.  I was recently given the opportunity to try Valentia’s True Glow Eye Cream and I love the way it tightens my eye area, de-puffs, and brightens up my dark circles.  It’s almost like an all in one- formulated with Vitamin C, Organic Rosehip Oil, and several antioxidants.  Upon application, I immediately notice how dewey and bright my under-eyes look.  Another thing that I love about this product is the price!  It’s exactly like a high-end product with natural and high quality ingredients, but half the price at only $25.00.

3.) Face Masks

Face masks are another really important part of any early 20′s skin-care routine.  I find that using my Valentia Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask once or twice a week really improves the overall moisture of my skin and makes it appear so radiant.  The product smells amazing and goes on almost like a watery jelly.  After a minute it starts to tingle and you can really feel it setting into your face.  Especially after waking up in the morning, the extra boost of hydration makes my makeup look so much better on.  I also love that the mask has natural oils in it, which I personally feel like have really helped to combat my acne prone skin.

4.) Sunscreen

If there is one secret to keeping skin youthful, it’s to sunscreen on the regular.  It sounds simple, but it’s actually one of the most overlooked things in many people’s skin-care routines.  Take into consideration that even when you are riding around in the car, your skin is being exposed to the sun.  Use a moisturizer that has sunscreen in it on your face and neck every morning before applying makeup in the morning.

5.) Oils and Nighttime Moisturizers

Applying a good moisturizer at night before bed is key to a healthy glow.  I rotate between using face oils such as Grapeseed Oil and Avocado Oil and a water gel moisturizer.

Hello everyone!  I am so glad to be back and blogging for you guys after a long few weeks of final exams! ♡ I don’t know about any of you, but my summer vacation has officially started now that my semester is over and I couldn’t be more relieved and excited.  It’s been a long semester of going out to eat and late night pizza runs with all my friends, but now that summer is here I’m ready to get back to a more healthy lifestyle.

Smoothies are my ideal healthy summer beverage.  They pack tons of nutrients, act really filling, and provide the perfect boost of energy.  My favorite thing to do with a smoothie is drink is before a workout because I find it really helps me get through some exhausting cardio.  Today, I’m going to show you guys how to make a smoothie that has a lot of different flavors in one.  (WARNING: If you hate the combination of peach, blueberries, and bananas, this probably isn’t for you!)

Ingredients:

✔ 1 cup Almond Breeze almond milk

✔ 1 Newman’s Own Greek peach yogurt

✔ ½ cup frozen bananas

✔ ½ cup frozen blueberries

✔ ½ tablespoon honey

Okay, so this is super simple from here!  Put all your ingredients in a blender.  The order of the ingredients really doesn’t matter other than the honey.  Personally, I would put the honey in last so it sits on top of your other ingredients and doesn’t get lost at the bottom of the blender. Put the top on the blender and blend everything on high.  When its all throughly blended take a spoon and taste it for sweetness.  If it’s not sweet enough add more honey.  Now pour your purple drink in a fun cup like my mason jar, get a cute straw, and your all set!  If desired throw some chia seeds and blueberries on top for some added protein and nutrients.  Enjoy ( :

Sometimes it can be hard to find a good healthy snack.  Personally, I know that I get bored sometimes with what is already in my house and I want try something new.  This snack is not only adorable (I’m a sucker for anything remotely cute looking), but it’s also super filling and simple to make!

All you need to do is grab a piece of whole wheat toast and spread a decent amount of peanut butter on it.  From there, take a banana and cut it in half.  Cut off one of the banana halve’s end pieces to make a nose for your bear.  Then take cut two pieces from the opposite side of the banana to make ears.  Now, grab three blueberries and arrange eyes and the tip of the nose on top of the bear.  You’re all done! (:

Need to Start Eating Healthy?

The Inspiration Closet has you covered!  A juicer is a great way to incorporate fruits and vegetables into your diet.  Although this is a drink made entirely out of fruit, I find that a juicer helps me to eat vegetables I normally don’t like by disguising them with the sweetness of other ingredients.  Cut all of the above items up in pieces small enough to fit in your juicer and juice each fruit one by one.  Combine all the ingredients in a pitcher, mix thoroughly, and store in the fridge.  Enjoy!
