Trench Coat: Zara (similar)  // Jeans: Target (similar) // Bag: Charming Charlie (similar) // Sunglasses: Target // Lipstick: MAC “Please Me”

Happy Monday!  Things are finally starting to warm up around here which means that it’s time to break out the trench coat!  I got this one from Zara during one of their big sales and I love the way it curves to your figure rather than being boxy like some others that I’ve tried.

Tip: A quick fix for a trench coat with a long belt is to tuck it under itself.  it’s both functional and looks fashion forward!  Have a great week everyone!

I love a hairstyle that looks complicated, but is actually so easy to do.  This low rolled bun updo looks perfectly polished for work, a special event, or just everyday wear and takes under 5 minutes to do!

Products used:

-Bobby Pins

-Hair Tie

-L’Oreal Paris Studio Above It All Invisi Gel Volumizing Hair Gel

-Aussie Aussome Volume Hairspray

Prior to beginning: I straightened my hair in order to create a smooth and polished effect.  I find that it really helps to reduce frizziness and flyways to begin like this.  I then distributed a small dot of gel throughout my hair to create some hold.

Step 1:  Start by creating a low ponytail and secure with a hair tie.

Step 2:  Make a small opening in the center of the ponytail, splitting the hair into two even sections with your fingers.

Step 3:  Take the ponytail and pull it up and into the opening.  I found that this was easiest done when I put my thumb and pointer finger inside the opening, ready to grab it and pull it through instead of just trying to shove it down.

Step 4: Repeat Step 3 one or two more times until the ponytail is a bun.

Step 5: Pin any remaining hair into the bun and hairspray to secure flyways.

Hope you are having a great Monday and thanks for reading! (:

Coat: Old Navy (similar) // Sweater: Old Navy // Pants: H&M (similar) // Shoes: ALDO // Bag: Charming Charlie (similar) // Sunglasses: Target // Lipstick: MAC “Chatterbox”

I have to admit that black on blue is a combination I never thought I would grow to love, but this past year I realized what a power couple they truly are!  I think in particular, a royal blue like this one is so striking against the black.  I added a hot pink bag to bring some more color into the look and then finished it off with MAC’s “Chatterbox” on my lips.

Cape: Hollister (similar) // Sweater: Hollister (similar) // Jeans: H&M // Bag: ALDO // Booties: Nordstrom Rack (similar) // Necklace: vintage (alternative) // Sunglasses: Target

One of my more recent discoveries has been the cape!  It’s such a great piece to have in your closet because it perfect for layering in a variety of seasons.  In addition, it can instantly dress up something simple like the sweater I’m wearing in this post.  Also, these grey H&M jeans are a MUST buy at $20.  I don’t know what it is about H&M jeans, but I find them to be so comfortable and flattering.  I always get complimented when I wear them.  Owning a grey pair is also a great way to change things up in your wardrobe.  As much as I love classic blue jeans, they can get boring and these are MUCH easier to get away with wearing to the office during my internship.

Black and white is a combination that will never go out of style.  Add a fun print and a pop of color to draw some attention to your look and finish it off with a lipstick that matches your accessories.
