Diptyque candle DIY

Diptyque candles

Hi everyone!  So before I begin this tutorial, I just wanted to mention that this idea originated from blogger/YouTuber Hello Maphie, and I am just recreating the DIY for my readers.  She is incredibly talented and creative, and although there are plenty of DIYs on the internet that no one really knows who did it first, this is not one of them.  She is definitely the brains behind this one, so be sure to visit her channel HERE if you get the chance! (:

Let’s get into it!  It’s pretty likely that you’ve seen Diptyque candles before.  Diptyque is a Paris-based company that produces a line of scented candles, perfumes and face/body care.  For years, the candles have been particularly popular, popping up allover Tumblr and Instagram.  When the candle burns out, people like to use the empty votive holder to store q-tips, makeup brushes, lipsticks, etc.  I loved the way these holders looked on top of vanities and coffee tables, but unfortunately, the price tag was a little out of my budget.  So, I decided to DIY one instead!  Here’s how:

You will need:

○ Candle votives (I found mine at a thrift store, but Michael’s and Ikea have some as well)

White sticker paper

○ A printer

For me the most difficult item to pick out was a votive holder because there are so many different shapes and sizes to choose from.  Once you have your holder, find a few pictures of different Diptyque candles on Google Images.  Only select the most clear and crisp looking ones.  I copied the images into Microsoft Word and then printed them out on the sticker paper. You then cut the stickers out individually and stick them to your votive.  That’s it!

Thank you for reading and I would love to see some of your recreations!

Hi girls!  These sandals are all from Nordstrom Rack – which is my favorite place to look for shoes lately!  FYI: the prices may vary from other retailers, so head straight to Nordstrom Rack Online for the lowest price!  I love to visit the actual store, because you never know what you’ll find, but online has a much better selection of shoes.  I’m actually only recently a shoe lover!  I used to be more of a bag kind of girl, but I’ve recently found that I love shoes just as much (sorry wallet).  That being said, I’m a girl that loves a bargain, and these designers finds are major steal, so I had to share them with you all.  I’ve labeled a few of my favorites with those pink bargain circles.  Happy shopping! (:

Hi everyone!  I can’t believe there is still snow on the ground.  Ugh.  Is anyone else as over it as I am??  I’ve already started shopping for spring and I couldn’t be more excited.  There’s just something about warm weather and light clothes that makes happy. (:  Particularly last week, I had a terrible time trying to shoot an outfit outside because it snowed and rained the majority of the week. ):  I have so many ideas for photography and outfits for spring and I can’t wait to share them with you all!

Hi everyone!  This sweater is from last year from the Bethany Mota collection at Aeropastle.  It’s still one of my favorites.  I have some similar ones linked above for you that I think are just as cute.  In particular, I love that one with the hearts on the elbow patches.  Also, you have to check out the Glossy Balms from Loreal!  They have such rich color for a gloss.  I have a few of them and they are a new recent favorite of mine.  I’m wearing the one in “My Baby Doll”.  By the way, this is my first pair of Keds and I really like how comfortable they are!  I currently have my eye on these Kate Spade New York Keds (and these) (and these).  How beautiful are they??  Time to start saving! (Hah)

Hi everyone!  Yes, that is more fresh snow on the ground.  Winter is never ending right now!  ):  At least it’s an excuse to wear comfy sweaters and scarves for a little bit longer right?  I’ve been in such a pink lipstick kind of mood lately, so when I got a manicure this week I went with this OPI “I’m Indi-a Mood For Love”.  I love being able to show off my favorite color in small ways like this!  Hope you are all staying warm wherever you are!
