Hi friends! The 4th of July is approaching pretty quickly and I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to spend my long weekend relaxing by the pool, eating some yummy bbq and sitting in the grass for a fireworks show. My holiday is going to be a pretty casual one, so I planned for a festive, yet comfortable outfit choice. I’m normally the type of girl who will take any excuse to wear a dress, but sometimes keeping it simple in a pair of shorts and a tank top is just what I need. This NYX “Perfect Red” is my go-to red lipstick by the way. I wear it with everything. Hope everyone has an amazing weekend and a happy 4th! Thank you for reading and of course for all of your support! (: xoxo
Hi friends! I’ve mentioned it before, but my #1 secret for expanding your wardrobe is to wear your clothes differently than they are meant for. These sunflower shorts are actually a romper. I put my H&M tie tank top over the upper part to give the appearance of shorts. You can re-wear pieces over and over again, yet your closet will always look like it’s updated!
Thanks for reading! (:
Hi everyone! So before I begin this tutorial, I just wanted to mention that this idea originated from blogger/YouTuber Hello Maphie, and I am just recreating the DIY for my readers. She is incredibly talented and creative, and although there are plenty of DIYs on the internet that no one really knows who did it first, this is not one of them. She is definitely the brains behind this one, so be sure to visit her channel HERE if you get the chance! (:
Let’s get into it! It’s pretty likely that you’ve seen Diptyque candles before. Diptyque is a Paris-based company that produces a line of scented candles, perfumes and face/body care. For years, the candles have been particularly popular, popping up allover Tumblr and Instagram. When the candle burns out, people like to use the empty votive holder to store q-tips, makeup brushes, lipsticks, etc. I loved the way these holders looked on top of vanities and coffee tables, but unfortunately, the price tag was a little out of my budget. So, I decided to DIY one instead! Here’s how:
You will need:
○ Candle votives (I found mine at a thrift store, but Michael’s and Ikea have some as well)
○ White sticker paper
○ A printer
For me the most difficult item to pick out was a votive holder because there are so many different shapes and sizes to choose from. Once you have your holder, find a few pictures of different Diptyque candles on Google Images. Only select the most clear and crisp looking ones. I copied the images into Microsoft Word and then printed them out on the sticker paper. You then cut the stickers out individually and stick them to your votive. That’s it!
Thank you for reading and I would love to see some of your recreations!
Hi there! I just wanted to do a quick review of the SENSATIONAIL color gel polish in the color, “White Lily”. I have tried quite a few of the polishes from this brand and I have to say I am very impressed. First of all, for those of you who have never tried an at home gel manicure, you are seriously missing out! The final product never disappoints me. My manicure always comes out professional looking and lasts for a week and a half to two weeks without a single chip. On top of that, because it is a gel polish and can only dry with UV light, my polish never gets tacky, so it lasts much longer. Additionally, since it is not drying half way through applying my polish, the result is a much smoother and more clean appearance. One of my favorite parts about a gel manicure is that it doesn’t leave residue on your fingers when you mess up, because it can’t dry without the light. Just wipe the polish right off! You don’t even have to wait for it to dry. As soon as the nails comes out of the lamp you are all set and can touch anything without ruining your nails. The “White Lily” polish went on beautifully and with two coats was completely opaque. It has great shine, and the color is nice and bright. Happy painting! (:
