Two weeks ago I attended NYFW for the first time! I was so excited when I received an invitation to view Yuna Yang’s F/W 2017 collection. The show took place at the Gotham Comedy Club in Chelsea, Manhattan. The clothes were absolutely stunning and it was so thrilling to be a part of the experience. The feeling of walking down the street and seeing tons and tons of other bloggers and fashion lovers coming together in one place is indescribable. Possibly just as beautiful as the runway ensembles were those of the attendees. Many showed up having had their hair and makeup professionally done and the outfits were GORGEOUS.
The collection itself was titled ‘Lights in the Shadow’ and the clothes were really on point with my personal style. There were lots of feminine pieces with lace and velvet including some printed dresses, beaded camisoles and floral bombers. Light pieces were mixed with darker ones for a concept that “light shines brighter than darkness”. One of my favorite looks featured a lace trench coat with matching lace pants.
There is definitely something to be said about having a few key pieces in your wardrobe that you will keep forever. This suede skirt is one of them for me. I bought it a few months ago on Etsy from a little vintage shop and I am so in love. I first saw the look on Emma Watson and I thought it was so pretty and different. I went crazy looking all over the internet for the perfect one, which is why I’ve rounded up tons of options for you guys. It looks really cute in the fall and works as a winter transition piece too since it’s so long and can be worn with booties. Using a turtleneck top and blanket scarf I piled on the layers to keep this look cold weather friendly.
Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! I’m so excited about today’s post because it marks the start of a new series here on the blog. I don’t know about you guys, but I have always been obsessed with “Get the Look” and “Look for Less” posts. I think they are so much fun and a great way to recreate emerging trends and celebrity looks when you don’t have a lot of $ to spend. I truly believe that you don’t have to wear expensive things to look/be fashionable and I think these kind of posts are proof of that. Not only so, but I think trying a different look out can be so inspiring and really helps to push you out of your comfort zone. I want this series to be something a little different for you guys and that’s why I don’t want to limit it to just trends and celebrity looks. If you like a character’s look from a particular t.v. show, movie, music video, really anything you can think of I would love to hear your ideas! 🙂
Now on to this particular look – When I saw this picture of Zendaya wearing denim on denim, I instantly fell in love. It’s so effortlessly chic and takes me back to Britney Spears circa 2001 in the best kind of way. What I really like about this style is that it almost looks like the top and bottom are one piece like a jumpsuit. Add some black accessories and a red lip and you’re good to go! As I was mentioned before, you don’t have to break the bank to recreate this look. This top was $15 at Forever 21!
OMG it has been way too long! I am so sorry guys! Things have been a little crazy since graduating from college and I needed to take a little blogging hiatus if you know what I mean. Sometimes you just need to put a pause on everything and take a step back. That being said, I have missed this so much and can’t wait to get back into making new and (hopefully better)posts for you all!
This top has been my obsession all summer. I have worn it an embarrassing number of times and I honestly have to say the quality really is there on this piece. After washing (and admittedly putting it in the dryer several times) it still looks brand new and fits perfectly!
Thanks again to all of you who have been patient the last few months and stuck around! You guys are the best and I can’t wait for all the changes that are coming to theinspirationcloset.com in the next few months. A new site makeover perhaps?? Stay tuned!
Happy Tuesday! Now that it’s spring and the weather is finally warming up I’m taking any and every excuse to get out of the house and in the sun. With all of the pretty lattes and fancy donut excursions that I’ve been on recently (see on my Instagram @theinspirationcloset), I’ve needed some fun outfits to go with them. That’s why I’m allover this leopard and hot pink combo right now. The blazer is so fun and bright, while the pants and top are muted for a nice contrast. Hope everyone is having a good week so far!
