There are so many ways to wear a blanket scarf, but I think my new favorite is with this little black dress!  This outfit is so easy to throw together and looks instantly chic for day or night wear.  When it gets chilly you can also add a red or beige coat!  How do you wear your blanket scarf?

I don’t know about you, but I am so guilty of impulse buying clothes, especially during the fall.  Sometimes it’s hard to resist the trends, even when you know they can only be worn for a short time before it gets cold (front button skirt I’m looking at you!).  That being said, you want a closet full of clothes that will carry you from season to season, not just pieces that are ideal for a few weeks at a time.  That’s why it’s so important to make sure that you are stocked with the essentials.  Four pieces that I can’t go without are a vest, a gingham or plaid button up shirt, a floppy hat, and some ankle booties.  Not only can you mix and match these items in a countless number of ways during the fall and winter, but they can also be worn year after year without going out of style.

TIP: To get the most out of your closet, try to purchasing as many of these pieces as you can in a neutral color so that they go with everything.  You’ll never have that, “I have nothing to wear!” moment again.  What are your fall essentials?

Side note: I’m totally loving the vampy lips for fall.  Revlon “Black Cherry” was the perfect color to match this burgundy hat!  This lipstick is normally glossy so I dusted some translucent powder over it to create the matte effect that I love.

I had been waiting to go apple picking with Craig for weeks, but both the weather and time really just weren’t on our side for most of September.  As the month came to a close, one day we finally decided to forget the forecast (rain) and go for it.  As it turns out, it was a beautiful day and we had so much fun picking out a pumpkin, playing with the animals, and of course visiting our favorite farm store to get apple cider doughnuts.  I hope you are all doing some fun fall things this October too and thanks for reading! Gossip Girl fans…this one’s for you!  No small-screen star can play the fashion game quite like the iconic Blair Waldorf does.  A cross between preppy and polished, Queen B’s signature style has been the envy of fashionistas everywhere since the show began in 2007.  While we haven’t heard the phrase, “You know you love me. XOXO, Gossip Girl,“ in quite awhile since the show ended in 2012, Blair’s outfits have lived on through blogs, Youtube, Pinterest and other media since then.

When I came across Ms. Waldorf’s, (or should I say Ms. Waldorf-Bass’s) school uniform (pictured here) I thought it was such a cute look to recreate for fall!  While Blair’s actual clothes could cost you 100′s or even 1,000′s of dollars, this inspired look was inexpensive and in my opinion just as cute!  Hope you guys like it and let me know in the comments if you’d like to see more “get the look” posts!
