I am so excited to have another installment in my “Get the Look For Less” series for you guys!  Emma Waston’s style is such a beautiful mix of classy, sexy and elegant.  I did a search to find some of her most popular looks and came up with these three.  While the actual pieces will run you 100’s of dollars, I was able to recreate them to give you the same look for WAY less!

Who do you want me to do a “Get The Look” for next?

We’ve all been there – you look through your closet full of clothes and decide you have nothing to wear.  Thanks to one too many Starbucks Lattes, you totally blew your budget this month and now you’re stuck in a wardrobe rut.

Believe it or not, there are probably dozens of outfit combinations that you’ve yet to put together using the same few pieces you already own!  I found three ways to wear one simple black dress from my closet. Whether heading to the office, or out and about in something casual for the weekend, I now have three different looks using only two articles of clothing.

Try it for yourself!  What pieces can you mix and match?

Possibly one of the best things about fall fashion is piling on lots of layers to mix and match with.  Layers can give an otherwise plain outfit both dimension and personality.   For this look, I paired a plaid shirt underneath a chambray top.  I added this Marleylily herringbone vest on top to pull everything together.  I am obsessed with vests and this black herringbone vest is crazy cute and can be re-worn again and again, which is what I look for in a staple wardrobe item.  This one is particularly unique because I was able to monogram it with my initials!

You also wouldn’t believe how crazy affordable these duck boots were.  I have had my eye on a pair of boots like this for the past two years.  These feel so personalized because I was also able to monogram them.  Not pictured are the two different toppers that they come with that I previewed on Instastories.  I seriously freaked out when I saw them.  You can change these boots to be worn plain (as pictured), or with a sherpa topper or faux fur topper. A.K.A. I can wear them all fall and winter!  I was also shocked by how light-weight they were.  I felt so comfortable walking around!

If you haven’t already, I would seriously recommend checking out Marleylily.  Their stuff is cute, affordable, personalized and right now lots of pieces are 75% off.  Happy shopping!  ❤️

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Mixing patterns is one of my favorite ways to take an outfit from blah to BAM.  While this trend can be tricky to put together at times, with the right combination, you’ll make it look effortless.  Here are a few of my tips:

1. Start With Some Basics

Stripes or leopard prints are a great place to start!  These go with just about anything, which makes them a go-to for me.

2. Let One Color Dominate

Sometimes it’s good to let one piece dominate all the color, while your second one stays neutral.  Notice in the above outfit that my tulip skirt is stealing the show, while my black and white top just kind of supports it on the sidelines.

3. Consistency is Key

Prefer to wear lots of color in both pieces?  Make sure that they share at least one color when mixing patterns.  If your patterns don’t match it can give the illusion that they do when you are wearing colors that are in the same family.  You can see here in this post where I mixed two separate patterns that the color that remained constant was white.

4.  Space Out Your Colors

When mixing three vibrant prints, choose colors that are evenly spaced out on the color wheel.  For instance, yellow, blue and mauve work well together.  If three patterns feel like too much for you, tone it down by making one print a neutral or solid color.

5. Mix Sizes

Another method is to try mixing the same prints in different sizes.  For example, thick stripes with thin stripes in the same color family will make you look like a total pro.

Now get out there and show off your pattern mixing powers!  What is your go-to mixed pattern outfit?
