tumblr_inline_n84h3cRzEQ1sop1mjHi everyone!  Sometimes when I go to make breakfast I want something that is cheery and uplifting in the morning that I can get excited about making.  You can make a few of these for a filling breakfast, or just one for a snack!

Okay, so let’s get into it!  All you will need for this idea is:

 A waffle maker

☼ Strawberries

☼ Bananas

☼ A cherry

Here is the recipe for your waffle: 

✿ 2 cups all-purpose flour

✿ 1 teaspoon salt

✿ 4 teaspoons baking powder

✿ 2 tablespoons white sugar

✿ 2 eggs

✿ 1 ½ cups warm milk

✿ 1/3 cup butter (melted)

✿ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder and sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Stir in the milk, butter and vanilla. Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture and beat until well blended.

When you are done making your waffle batter…

1.) Preheat your waffle maker

2.) Pour your waffle batter into the waffle maker once it has finished preheating.  Use enough batter to fill the mold, making sure there aren’t any thin areas.

3.) When my waffle is done, the waffle maker makes a sound like a fire alarm, but your waffle makers will obviously vary.

4.) Okay, this is probably the hardest part even though it’s really not hard at all.  My waffle maker is shaped in hearts, so to make the cone I had to cut off the top part of the heart straight off leaving the triangle shape. Depending on what your waffle shape is, you may just have to freehand cut it.  Waffles are pretty simple to cut, so you probably won’t’ have too hard a time.  Additionally, the recipe makes a few waffles so if you mess up, you can just try again!

5.) Arrange your cone on the plate first.  Then cut one banana and about six strawberries into flat pieces.  Arrange them in whatever order you like!  I chose to make the strawberries the bottom scoop and the bananas the top.  Grab a maraschino cherry and dry it off so it doesn’t dye your waffles red.  Place the cherry at the top and you are done.  Have fun! Hello everyone!  I am so glad to be back and blogging for you guys after a long few weeks of final exams! ♡ I don’t know about any of you, but my summer vacation has officially started now that my semester is over and I couldn’t be more relieved and excited.  It’s been a long semester of going out to eat and late night pizza runs with all my friends, but now that summer is here I’m ready to get back to a more healthy lifestyle.

Smoothies are my ideal healthy summer beverage.  They pack tons of nutrients, act really filling, and provide the perfect boost of energy.  My favorite thing to do with a smoothie is drink is before a workout because I find it really helps me get through some exhausting cardio.  Today, I’m going to show you guys how to make a smoothie that has a lot of different flavors in one.  (WARNING: If you hate the combination of peach, blueberries, and bananas, this probably isn’t for you!)

Ingredients:

✔ 1 cup Almond Breeze almond milk

✔ 1 Newman’s Own Greek peach yogurt

✔ ½ cup frozen bananas

✔ ½ cup frozen blueberries

✔ ½ tablespoon honey

Okay, so this is super simple from here!  Put all your ingredients in a blender.  The order of the ingredients really doesn’t matter other than the honey.  Personally, I would put the honey in last so it sits on top of your other ingredients and doesn’t get lost at the bottom of the blender. Put the top on the blender and blend everything on high.  When its all throughly blended take a spoon and taste it for sweetness.  If it’s not sweet enough add more honey.  Now pour your purple drink in a fun cup like my mason jar, get a cute straw, and your all set!  If desired throw some chia seeds and blueberries on top for some added protein and nutrients.  Enjoy ( :

Today is Easter Sunday and feeling in the spirit, I decided to make these adorable bunny Peeps cupcakes.  I wanted to share with you how I made them so that you could make some for yourself either today, or even after the holiday has passed (I mean look at them).  That’s year- round cuteness in my opinion.  So, to make these delicious treats I kept it very simple and used boxed cake mix and store-bought frosting, but you can make them from scratch if you would like!  However, if you want to make them exactly how I did, then here is what I purchased:

1.) Pillsbury Moist Supreme Classic Yellow Cake Mix

2.) Pillsbury Funfetti Vibrant Green Vanilla Frosting

3.) Reese’s Pieces Peanut Butter eggs

4.) Two packages of Peeps (pink and purple)

5.) Easter themed toothpicks

After gathering all of your ingredients, the recipe is very simple.  Bake your cupcakes according to the box instructions.  Allow about half an hour for them to cool.  I already had a disposable icing bag with a tip to make the appearance of grass, but if you don’t have this you may need to go purchase one.  There is the option of just frosting the cupcakes normally as well if you don’t want to go for that grassy looking effect.

Now, gently separate your Peep bunny from his bunny friends and stick a toothpick in the bottom of him (I know sounds harsh).  Push it into him just far enough where it won’t stick out from his top and place him into the cupcake using the toothpick piece sticking out.  For decorative effect, you can add a fancy Easter toothpick in his side if you would like.  Finally, place two eggs next to the bunny and you’re done!

Sometimes it can be hard to find a good healthy snack.  Personally, I know that I get bored sometimes with what is already in my house and I want try something new.  This snack is not only adorable (I’m a sucker for anything remotely cute looking), but it’s also super filling and simple to make!

All you need to do is grab a piece of whole wheat toast and spread a decent amount of peanut butter on it.  From there, take a banana and cut it in half.  Cut off one of the banana halve’s end pieces to make a nose for your bear.  Then take cut two pieces from the opposite side of the banana to make ears.  Now, grab three blueberries and arrange eyes and the tip of the nose on top of the bear.  You’re all done! (:

Want to have your bear as a lunch instead?  Make a 2-3 more for a yummy mid-day treat.

Recently, I have been wanting to try something new for breakfast and decided to make these rainbow pancakes this morning.  They are simple to make and my little sister was in love with the way they turned out.

Start by making the batter just like you would with regular pancakes using either a store bought pancake mix, or from scratch.  Any mix will work, it really just depends on what your preference is.  Once the mix is in batter form, separate it into six different bowls evenly.  Now, you’re going to need food coloring in the colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.  HOWEVER, many products in stores only provide colors: red, yellow, blue, and green (super annoying).  So, you’ll have to mix red and yellow for the color orange, and blue and red will be mixed to make purple.  I added 2-3 drops of each color to each batter and thoroughly mixed.

Now make the pancakes on a skillet like you normally would, but one color at a time.  HUGE TIP: Try very hard not to overcook the pancakes or the color will be overshadowed by the brownish burnt color of the pancakes.  In rainbow order, stack them on top of each other when they are done cooking.  I used butter, confectioner’s sugar, and syrup as a topping, but use whatever you like.  Done!
