Hi loves! (:  Burgundy pants are such a great change from wearing jeans all the time.  I got mine from Who.A.U.  I’ll put the link down below since I don’t know how many of you have it at your mall!  Since it’s getting cooler I purchased this cute half sweatshirt jean jacket from Forever 21 and I’m so glad I did.  It’s the perfect outerwear piece for those days when I want to be casual and comfortable.  Especially because fall whether usually isn’t quite cold enough for a heavy coat, I love the jean and leather jackets for this season.

What’s great about this look, is that it’s for those days when you don’t feel like throwing together something elaborate.  The burgundy pants make the outfit look fashionable, yet your comfortable and it was easy to put together.

Sidenote – This is the first time that I am rocking my new Sperry Top-Siders!  This is my first time purchasing a pair of Sperrys and I love them.  In my opinion, they are the perfect addition to this casual vibe.

Hi loves!  Let me start by saying I love the gingham trend this fall!  This shirt is incredibly versatile and I’m sure you will be seeing several different outfit combinations of mine using it throughout the year.

For this outfit, I chose to wear it under a vest.  I definitely would love to invest in a few more vests this season because they really do add some extra style to any shirt.  Another lovely addition to the gingham look?  Pearls!  Pearls look so pretty against gingham.  I love anything classic, so pearls are one of my favorite pieces of jewelry.

Hi loves!  I’m back at university for the year, but no worries, I will still have tons of fashion, beauty, DIY and etc. posts for you guys!  Let me just start by saying I used to hate fall clothing.  I was such a summer clothes kind of girl for the longest time.  Rompers, dresses and skirts are such a go-to for me.  However, in recent years I have discovered that fall is actually one of the most fashionable seasons of all.  The opportunities for layering are endless.  A simple jean and t-shirt become instantly glam with a scarf and a cute hat.  Boots come in so many styles now that it’s impossible to own just one pair.

This season i plan to show you the power of fall fashion.  It is amazing how many different combinations can be made with a simple gingham shirt or a big midi skirt like the one I’m wearing in today’s post.  In this big personal closet of inspiration we share (a.k.a. this blog) I hope you find something to take with you and have your most chic season yet! (:

Just a quick side note- Bloglovin’ and Tumblr have reconciled their differences and Tumblr has officially unblocked Bloglovin’!  (Thank goodness right?)

As for my outfit, I love the midi skirt trend for this fall!  It is such an amazing piece to add to your closet.  Not only does it stand out, but you get the instant retro Audrey Hepburn kind-of-look which is always timeless.  A great tip for wearing button down shirts with skirts is to tie a small knot at the bottom of your shirt.  Leave one to two buttons unbuttoned before tying your knot.  I find that this ends up looking much better than tucking things in.  Also, its way easier!  Pair with heels or flats and your good to go!

Midi Skirt: H&M

Top: Kohl’s

Scarf: Ann Taylor

Flats: Lower East Side

Before I go, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of the new followers on both Tumblr and Instagram!  Welcome to our shared closet. (:

Hi there!  I can’t believe I leave to start my third year of college in less than a week.  Sadly, this will be the last summer post on my blog! ):  My school is in a very windy area so unfortunately it gets chilly very fast.  I’ll be in jeans practically as soon as school starts. However, that’s great because we are all already in fall clothes buying mode anyway being that back to school time is here.  Personally, I’m very excited to get working on a variety of fall outfits for you guys.  Side note, who else is so excited that the “PSL” otherwise known as the Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks came back starting August 25th!  Obviously, it’s very early for them to start bringing this back, but I love fall themed flavors and especially anything pumpkin.

Hi lovelies!  So as I’m sure you are all aware, back to school time is right around the corner.  For some of you, school has probably already started.  Being that I attend a university, my school year does not begin for another week and a half.  As much as many of us don’t want to think about going back, we have to start shopping for school supplies.

By the way, does anyone else genuinely love buying school supplies?  It’s my favorite part of going back to school.  That being said, a lot of the designs available for binders, notebooks, folders and etc. are so not cute.  This was the perfect excuse to personalize and DIY my binders and folders this semester.  I also have some tips on where to buy some of the other supplies I picked up that I am really loving this year.

So, lets get into it!  We will start with the binders.  They are incredibly easy to make and I am so happy with how they turned out.  They really show off my personality, which is something I love to do when I DIY something.  Start off by hopping on Tumblr, (which if you are reading this, you are already there so good job!).  Now collect images that inspire you or make you happy.  For me, I like keeping a theme for each binder, so I searched for certain types of blogs in the tumblr search bar.  Some examples are: rosy, vintage summer, Ariana Grande, etc.  Now arrange the images in Microsoft Word.  To achieve the look that I did, make sure to leave some space around the edges and in between each picture.  When you have finished arranging the images, I recommend grabbing some photo paper from your local dollar store (Dollar Tree carries it).  Print your images on the photo paper onto the glossy side.  This just gives them a more smooth and picture-like look.  Now, some of you I’m sure will have the binders where you can just slip the glossy paper right into the plastic in the front.  However, mine didn’t have that, so I went over to Staples and had all the designs laminated at about $1.00 a sheet.  I then used strong packing tape to tape the back of my laminated sheets to the front of my binder and wha-la done. (:

Although my binders looked great after I was done, my folders were still boring and I needed a way to distinguish my classes.  Purchase a dispenser of Washi tape and cut out a piece of blank white paper in any shape you like.  Then, use the Washi tape around the border and write your class on the paper part.  Since, a lot of times Washi tape isn’t super strong, I recommend putting a big piece of clear packing tape over your entire label.  I promise after you do that it’s not moving for the rest of the year!

As for my tips for the rest of my supplies, I highly recommend you visit Walmart for this cute pencil pouch.  It’s so adorable.  For the agenda, I also found countless cute ones at Walmart and they were extremely reasonably priced.  My pencils were purchased at Dollar Tree and I love them.  Glitter and pink is a combination you cannot go wrong with.  However, if you feel like getting extra creative and you want to design your own pencils, go ahead and grab that Washi tape, cut two pieces to the length of your pencil, and place each piece on one half of the pencil.

Good luck with going back to school and send me your creations on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #BackToSchoolWithNicole

Love,

Nicole
