Hi lovelies!  So as I’m sure you are all aware, back to school time is right around the corner.  For some of you, school has probably already started.  Being that I attend a university, my school year does not begin for another week and a half.  As much as many of us don’t want to think about going back, we have to start shopping for school supplies.

By the way, does anyone else genuinely love buying school supplies?  It’s my favorite part of going back to school.  That being said, a lot of the designs available for binders, notebooks, folders and etc. are so not cute.  This was the perfect excuse to personalize and DIY my binders and folders this semester.  I also have some tips on where to buy some of the other supplies I picked up that I am really loving this year.

So, lets get into it!  We will start with the binders.  They are incredibly easy to make and I am so happy with how they turned out.  They really show off my personality, which is something I love to do when I DIY something.  Start off by hopping on Tumblr, (which if you are reading this, you are already there so good job!).  Now collect images that inspire you or make you happy.  For me, I like keeping a theme for each binder, so I searched for certain types of blogs in the tumblr search bar.  Some examples are: rosy, vintage summer, Ariana Grande, etc.  Now arrange the images in Microsoft Word.  To achieve the look that I did, make sure to leave some space around the edges and in between each picture.  When you have finished arranging the images, I recommend grabbing some photo paper from your local dollar store (Dollar Tree carries it).  Print your images on the photo paper onto the glossy side.  This just gives them a more smooth and picture-like look.  Now, some of you I’m sure will have the binders where you can just slip the glossy paper right into the plastic in the front.  However, mine didn’t have that, so I went over to Staples and had all the designs laminated at about $1.00 a sheet.  I then used strong packing tape to tape the back of my laminated sheets to the front of my binder and wha-la done. (:

Although my binders looked great after I was done, my folders were still boring and I needed a way to distinguish my classes.  Purchase a dispenser of Washi tape and cut out a piece of blank white paper in any shape you like.  Then, use the Washi tape around the border and write your class on the paper part.  Since, a lot of times Washi tape isn’t super strong, I recommend putting a big piece of clear packing tape over your entire label.  I promise after you do that it’s not moving for the rest of the year!

As for my tips for the rest of my supplies, I highly recommend you visit Walmart for this cute pencil pouch.  It’s so adorable.  For the agenda, I also found countless cute ones at Walmart and they were extremely reasonably priced.  My pencils were purchased at Dollar Tree and I love them.  Glitter and pink is a combination you cannot go wrong with.  However, if you feel like getting extra creative and you want to design your own pencils, go ahead and grab that Washi tape, cut two pieces to the length of your pencil, and place each piece on one half of the pencil.

Good luck with going back to school and send me your creations on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #BackToSchoolWithNicole

Love,

Nicole

Hi loves!  I’m really excited about today’s blog post because one of my favorite things to do is throw a chambray shirt over a dress.  Not only does this styling trick expand your wardrobe, but it looks like it took you way longer to pull this outfit together then it actually will.  If your dress is a white or light color, I recommend using a dark color as a top.  The contrast really makes the outfit pop.  I paired this with an orange statement necklace for some extra glam and a little added color.  I am a huge fan of white heels, so this was a great excuse to add those to the look.  The brown bag kept things looking simple, but chic.

Hi guys!  I’m obsessed with the zoo.  Last year, for my birthday, I actually told my boyfriend that all I wanted to do was go to the zoo.  This summer, I decided to take a day trip with my sister to a small zoo in our area and we had so much fun.  For this outfit I wanted something playful and comfortable.

What I love about this look is how perfect it is for the hot weather.  Overalls are a huge go-to for me lately because they are so simple to throw on and look fashionable without trying.  I actually purchased this pair very recently, and because it’s nearing the end of the season, they were extremely marked down.  Style overalls with a short sleeve or sleeveless shirt, and a pair of sneakers for a put together look.

Overalls: Cotton On

Top: Love Culture

Sneakers: Target

Hi guys!  This outfit of the day i actually one of my favorites.  I found this sunflower romper on LivingRoyal.com and purchased it right on the spot, which is kinda rare for me.

Click “Read More” to see more pictures!

Since I bought it, I’ve noticed Living Royal has stopped carrying clothes.  Does anyone know if this is temporary?  I really liked their clothes ):.  They seem to only sell socks now.  My backpack was purchased at Forever 21 and it was a gift from my boyfriend.  I don’t own a ton of hats, but I really would like to get more!  This one was also bought at Forever 21.  It’s funny because when I was younger I hated hats, but now I think they can add a lot to an outfit.  I was wearing two pairs of sunglasses in this post.  The very round ones were found at Charlotte Russe.  They were an impulse buy for sure.  I think you definitely can only wear them with certain outfits like this one because they’re pretty crazy.  My second pair are my favorites.  They are more of a wayfarer style.  You guys will probably see me wearing them all the time.  My shoes were an amazing buy.  Surprisingly, I got them at Walmart for like $5.00!  They’re incredibly comfortable and work with lots of outfits-espeically if you want a laid back look.

In about a week I’m off to Arizona to visit my older sister and baby nephew, so look forward to lots of cool OOTD posts in the desert! (:  (That is if I don’t die from the heat.)

The 4th of July is in just a few days and I wanted to give you guys a few outfit ideas for the occasion.  All of these outfits were created using the same crop top.  What is even more amazing is that this top was purchased at H&M for only $4.00 for their 4th of July sale!

For the first outfit I used my H&M crop top and put some Forever 21 overalls over it to create a playful and comfortable look.

The second outfit was actually my favorite.  I will most likely be wearing this outfit for 4th of July this year to a party I’m going too. (:  I used the same crop top from H&M paired with a skirt I found at a store called Who. A. U.  For those of you who don’t have this store in your area, Who. A. U. is a store with a California kind of vibe.  They have clothes similar to a Hollister or Abercrombie, but with better sales.  I purchased my sunglasses at Forever 21.  You will probably see me wearing these all the time I love them.  They have tiny black polka dots on them.

Crop Top: H&M

My last outfit is definitely the most festive being that it is the only outfit I incorporated red into.  Sorry guys I don’t own a ton of red! :0 These red shorts are from the store Wet Seal.  I wouldn’t say I’m a frequent shopper at Wet Seal, because sometimes the quality is iffy, but these shorts were an amazing buy.  They are made out of this stretchy fabric instead of jeans, so they’re super comfy to wear.  My top is the same H&M crop top of course, and the kimono is from Hollister Co.  I hadn’t bought something from Hollister in about a year prior to this.  I walked in because I saw they were having a sale and found this beautiful kimono for $10.00!  You really can’t beat it.

Outfit #3

Crop Top: H&M

Shorts: Wet Seal

Kimono: Hollister Co.
