Hi everyone! Sometimes when I go to make breakfast I want something that is cheery and uplifting in the morning that I can get excited about making. You can make a few of these for a filling breakfast, or just one for a snack!
Okay, so let’s get into it! All you will need for this idea is:
☼ A waffle maker
☼ A cherry
Here is the recipe for your waffle:
✿ 2 cups all-purpose flour
✿ 1 teaspoon salt
✿ 4 teaspoons baking powder
✿ 2 tablespoons white sugar
✿ 2 eggs
✿ 1 ½ cups warm milk
✿ 1/3 cup butter (melted)
✿ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Stir in the milk, butter and vanilla. Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture and beat until well blended.
When you are done making your waffle batter…
1.) Preheat your waffle maker
2.) Pour your waffle batter into the waffle maker once it has finished preheating. Use enough batter to fill the mold, making sure there aren’t any thin areas.
3.) When my waffle is done, the waffle maker makes a sound like a fire alarm, but your waffle makers will obviously vary.
4.) Okay, this is probably the hardest part even though it’s really not hard at all. My waffle maker is shaped in hearts, so to make the cone I had to cut off the top part of the heart straight off leaving the triangle shape. Depending on what your waffle shape is, you may just have to freehand cut it. Waffles are pretty simple to cut, so you probably won’t’ have too hard a time. Additionally, the recipe makes a few waffles so if you mess up, you can just try again!
5.) Arrange your cone on the plate first. Then cut one banana and about six strawberries into flat pieces. Arrange them in whatever order you like! I chose to make the strawberries the bottom scoop and the bananas the top. Grab a maraschino cherry and dry it off so it doesn’t dye your waffles red. Place the cherry at the top and you are done. Have fun! (:
