anthropologie-hacks

I could live in an Anthropologie.  Seriously – the clothes, the home decor, the gorgeous patterns…could it be more inviting??  I’m obsessed with the mood lighting, the dreamy candle smells and overall homey feel throughout the store.  It feels so inspiring every time I walk in.

One thing I’m not a huge fan of is how crazy expensive everything is.  Items have been priced as high as $9,000 (yikes) and for those of us that don’t have a disposable income it can get a little pricey.   That’s why I’ve rounded up a few of the best Anthropologie shopping hacks to help you save the maximum $$ on your next Anthro trip!

1.) Get Complimentary Wardrobe and Home Styling

Did you know that Anthropologie offers styling advice for both your wardrobe and home free of charge? UMM sign me up!  Customers can make appointments by visiting online or calling their local store.

2.) Shop the Sales

This might seem like a no-brainer, but seriously Anthropologie has some amazing sales and often marks down products that are out-of-season or not selling well down heavily.  The sale section is frequently  an additional 20-25% off and sometimes there are bigger discounts such as 40% store-wide.  This is the perfect time to grab all of those pieces that you’ve been eyeing.  In particular, I find the sales section to be a great place to score discounted hooks, knobs, kitchenware, accessories, beauty items, small home decor pieces and gifts.

3.) Opt For Store Pick-up to Save on Shipping Costs

Store pick-up is one of the best shopping hacks ever.  No shipping costs and an excuse to stop in Anthropologie to browse?  Yes Please.  Shopping online and picking-up can also help you score specific items that are out of stock.  A few months ago, I found this gorgeous hook in the sales section, but couldn’t find a second matching one.  I ended up finding it online instead and was able to pick it up at another nearby store!

4.) Use Anthropologie’s Price Adjustment Policy to Your Advantage

As per the Anthropologie FAQ section on site “If you have purchased items that are now on sale, we will gladly offer you a one-time price adjustment if you contact us within 14 days of the original date of shipment or in-store purchase.”

5. Buy Discounted Gift Cards

Save even more money by purchasing a discounted Anthropologie gift card from an authorized gift card reseller.  Some popular site to do so include Raise.com, CardPool.com and GiftCardRescue.com.  Gift cards are often discounted up to 35%!

6.  Get Familiar with the Sales Cycles

Anthropologie often releases new products on the first of every month.  Typically, you can find that the website will put items on sale at midnight on Sunday.

7. Use Thinkover to Get Alerted When Items Go on Sale

Okay, seriously – best. hack. ever.  Thinkover is one of my favorite websites right now and not just for Anthropologie, but for any store.  Think of it like Pinterest for online shopping.  Drag your favorite items from the site to the lower half of your screen and they will be saved for later.  Once an item goes on sale you’ll get an alert!  No more bookmarking and constantly checking for mark downs.  I’ve saved soooo much money with this site.

Happy shopping!

Coat: Target (similar) // Pants: RoseGal // Top: Lauren Conrad by Kohl’s (similar) // Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters // Backpack: Marshall’s (similar) // Shoes: ALDO (similar) // Lipstick: MAC “Ruby Woo”

Although I really wouldn’t describe my personality as “extra”, sometimes I like to dress like it.  It’s fun to try on a new look that pushes you out of your comfort zone and makes you feel confident and even a little “out there”.

These laced up pants are one of the bolder trends I’ve seen lately, worn by the likes of Kourtney Kardashian and Gigi Hadid.  As soon as I saw them, I knew I had to have them (a more affordable version of course).

I found a cheap pair from RoseGal that are super cute.  They are quite lightweight and you do have to lace them up yourself, but look really amazing on and are totally unbeatable for the price.  Trends like this I try not to splurge on.   You won’t get tons and tons of wear out of them + they could come and go, so I recommend saving your big spends on the basics and hunting for great steals like this for bolder looks.

Would you rock laced-up pants?

I used to think overalls were only a spring and summer thing.  I never pictured walking around in blue jean winter overalls.  Once fall rolled around I would pack them up and wait for the winter to be over to pull them back out again.  That was… until this year, when I discovered these nude overalls!  I first saw them on Kylie Jenner two years ago.  She was wearing a pair from ASOS and I thought they were so unique.  To winterize the look, I paired them with layered neutrals, starting with a white t-shirt underneath and ending with a suede jacket I picked up from Target.  Finish the look with some boots and a matching bag and there you have it – winter overalls!

Layers on layers on layers!  I seriously can’t get enough.  At this point, you are all pretty familiar with this scarf.  To recap: I’ve had it for years, it was only $10 and I’m totally obsessed.  I have it in a few colors because at $10, why not?

I paired it with a white thermal from Old Navy and a duster vest from Banana Republic.  For added warmth, top it off with a long coat.

What is your favorite layering piece?

Let’s talk about how much I LOVE Amazon.  I pretty much find myself ordering something weekly which has led me to find some of  what I believe are the best Amazon fashion finds under $10.   It’s actually kind of amazing how affordable some of these items are.

A couple things I have to highlight that you have seen in a TON of my posts:

The Sunglasses – You can see how I wear these pretty much anywhere on my blog, because I am OBSESSED.  I love them so much that I bought one pair from Amazon and the same exact pair in a different color from Urban Outfitters.  They are a perfect Dupe for the $300 Karen Walker ones and they go with everything.

The Blanket Scarf – Again, another item that you have seen featured on this blog a million times and one of my favorite Amazon fashion finds EVER.  I bought this scarf two or three years ago and have worn it way too many times to count.  I always get so many compliments on it when I wear it and there are a dozen ways to style it.  See how I wore it as a cape here.

The Earrings – Okay, so my sister actually recommended these to me a couple years ago, and I’ve been wearing them ever since!  If you have sensitive ears and most earrings bother you, but you don’t want to shell out the $$ for 14k gold, you can opt for surgical steel!  They won’t bother your ears, and this particular set comes with 6 pairs in all different sizes.  You honestly can’t beat that.  I change them out all the time depending on my mood.  Here’s how they look on.

The Faux Glasses – Yep, I’ll admit it – sometimes I wear fake glasses because they are super cute and it’s fun to change up your look every once in awhile!  See how they look on here.

By the way – you NEVER have to pay the $99 for Amazon Prime because you can always find a better deal (usually one that gives you a gift card back) so you can get it for cheaper.  I used the deal on this page (scroll down) to get a $15.00 gift card back!

Or if you don’t want to commit to buying Prime just yet, get a free trial here for 30 days!

Didn’t love anything here?  There’s a whole section on Amazon dedicated to more $1o and under goodies.  I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a frequent visitor.
